Our Goal
The Hawaii state government is a nearly $20 billion business that serves the public. THG’s goal is to collaborate with state government in its effort to modernize its business processes and underlying technology systems by providing education, advocacy and resources for the state to serve the public more efficiently. When the Hawaii state government operates efficiently, everyone in our islands is lifted up and thrives. THG believes everyone has a responsibility to help improve the business of government. For more than a decade, THG has stepped up to help facilitate government modernization initiatives.
THG's Unique Role
The world is rapidly becoming more automated and digitized. Government agencies must continue to evolve, especially with rising expectations among residents for access, convenience and simplicity. Hawaii state government agencies are making strides in providing streamlined services and THG is committed to helping Hawaii state government accelerate modernization to keep pace with change and to anticipate what’s on the horizon.
Our Vision
THG sees a vibrant future for Hawaii, where state government’s business processes and information technology systems are optimized to deliver high quality, timely service for the people of Hawaii.
• Hawaii state government has forward-looking employees who are champions of change and advocates of modernization to meet the needs of the state.
• The state’s integrated information technology systems enable lawmakers and other government officials to make thoughtful, equitable decision on policies, programs and practices in a timely manner based on real-time data.
• Businesses, nonprofits, and every individual are empowered with readily available data to thrive and can be informed to participate more fully in discussions to plan the future of our island home.
Supporting Transformation
Transitioning from outdated legacy systems to new, updated systems is a complex process involving change for people, of processes, and of technologies. THG supports the transformation of government business service because it will improve efficiency, enhance collaboration across state dependents, enable easier access to real-time data, and support informed decision-making on key policies, and better serve Hawaii’s citizens.
Our Guiding Values
Our commitment to government modernization is rooted in aloha for Hawaii’s people. The definition of the ‘aloha spirit’ from renowned Hawaiian poet and philosopher Pilahi Paki was encoded into Hawaii state law in 1986 and serves as guiding principles for THG’s work.
Living the Aloha Spirit
Akahai - to be kind, expressed as grace;
Lōkahi - to be connected in harmony and unity with each other;
ʻOluʻolu - to be gentle and strong, to do the right thing at the right time;
Haʻahaʻa - to be humble, to listen for the deeper meaning; and
Ahonui - to be patient, and wait for the right moment
